...how much you miss your family until you get to see them but only for a short time. My cousin, more like a brother to me, came into town yesterday with an enterouge of like A MILLION people. It's cool though. I haven't seen him since Thanksgiving'08. We laughed and talked about the crazy things in our upbringing. Since he's lived in Michigan for so long, and its too cold to visit there, many of his friends haven't met any of his hometown people. So I think they kind of enjoyed listening to our stories and what not.
I moved away from "home" (the place where I grew up) when I left for college. I have lived somewhere on the east coast since then and I honestly don't see myself moving back to Arkansas but never say never I guess. I used to hate the thought of going home for extended periods of time because LR is soo boring. There's not much more to do once you've done the LR Trifecta (movies, mall, and Professor Bowl). But its funny how your outlook changes as you get older. I miss going home now. Though I prefer not to stay longer than roughly three days at a time, I do love going home to great family, food, and friends. I haven't been home since last March when I was there literally for a day and a half for a wedding. It was short lived, but good to just be home with the people that love and support you no matter what. To be around the people that if you never got another degree, or got a seven figure salary- still think that you are a shining star and are proud beyond measure.
We grow up. We move on. We make our own little lives. Because my parents don't live in Arkansas its easy for me to go to them when I want to go "home" sometimes neglecting my home in my 'hood in LR. My grandmother has asked me twice now when I think I will be home again, so I think I better start trying to make a move in that direction. She doesn't usually put in requests like that...so I must need to get back there soon.
Cheers to the fam! I'm comin' home soon (er rather than later)
