Sunday Afternoon Goodness

Today was business as usual (church, nap, work) then there was my Sunday afternoon Whole Foods relaxing time. This is my grocery time where I go in and soak in the Whole Foodsy goodness and pick up fresh(er) meat and seafood. Its my time to be a five star chef in my own head as I peruse the isles...(most of this occurs in my head because this is a very busy WF location and its usually packed). Well I was in for a surprise today. After parking I headed towards the door and saw that some parking spots were blocked off for a "special event". I thought to myself....self...what could be special over on this side of the shopping plaza? Well once I got in the store and into the produce section and started seeing people with tons of food in their carts and running around like mad men...I realized what it was. IT WAS MY FAVORITE SHOW.

My giddiness was confirmed by the many camera crews and producers yelling the time remaining for conteststants to shop. Because I am a true fan, I know that Bravo's Top Chef Season 7 started taping in DC on Monday April 5th. I'd read that they were seen at a WF locaiton in the city and the one in Silver Spring (the one I shop at), but I never would have expected to see them there during peak shopping hours on a Sunday. It was cool to watch. They bought SO MUCH FOOD...omgaw and I can only imagine what they were planning to cook up.

The low down- at this stage there are three brown people in the running. A brotha...big bellied and tatted up. A younger looking brown girl- kind of a plain jane..hope she has some personality...and an older brown girl who looks like she don't take no mess. There's the obligatory tall semi cool, semi rebel white guy and the obligatory ambiguous white chick who onl wears bandanas. A shorter hispanic man. And a few others that weren't worth remembering except the one who was polite enough to say excuse me as she rushed through the store (the others did not).

I'll admit that I probably looked a bit like a stalker as I did my shopping...and the production team wasn't very helpful in my quest to attend a taping. And I was so caught up in that and my friend telling me to go find the producer that I forgot my potato..but I suppose it was worth it.

For my fellow foodies...I'll be on the lookout. Hopefully I can score a taste of Top Chef Season 7
