Reality Rundown

I'm such a reality show junkie. I like to watch in real time but thankfully HULU and station websites allow me to keep up even when I can't watch in real time (which may be a gloomy reality for me soon). So with all of the new bleality (my word = black reality) shows that premiered recently, I though I'd give you my rundown on the situation...

1) Tiny & Toya
There's something great about hood folks tryin to get right. Seriously. Tiny & Toya have the ability to bring me to tears sometimes. In general there's no hate for this show. These ladies have grown so much and I like that they are willing to show their vulnerabilities to the world. One question though...does BET have a contract with the Mary Hall Freedom House? Cuz it looks like the same place that Frankie went and spoke. #Justsayin

2) The Real McCoy
LisaRaye's burst into stardom came when she played Diamond and I think she will forever be known as Diamond. The other ups and downs of her life were played out in front of cameras. The chick's been through a lot and I love that she's trying to make herself relevant again. I can't quite get with the "I only wear white" thing...but if that's what makes you happy..then do you boo. Her love for her daughter is cute. I'm not sure what this show will accomplish other than letting people see her day to day rants about only wearing white or continuing to tell her side of the story about the divorce but it certainly isn't the worst thing on TV (looking at you RHOA of New Jersey).

3) Basketball Wives

So let's start with the title....and why it's not applicable. How many "wives" are there? Two if you include Shaunie who was still married legally at the start of taping. There's a couple fincee's or ex-fiancee's, a baby-momma who's forbidden to even speak superman's name....(btw...who ever thought she was 29...19? maybe. 29? WOW). I need them to go back to the think tank on the title-but it is probably too late for that. Anyway...the show starts off with drama and from the looks of it...that's all it will be. I'm getting this will be the trainwreck that we will all have our eyes glued to.

4) What Chili Wants

I watched the second episode last night and am still debating whether or not I want to go back and watch the first one. It was wack. I actually fell asleep on it and my mommy filled me in on what happened. But of course mom's first comment on the show was that she needs to let the baby hair go. Hmmm...is that a running theme on VH1 now? I think Chili's expectations are a bit ridic and over the top. Further, the way she responded when the one guy said that he ate pork was unacceptable. Geez, it's one thing to have your own do's and don'ts but its not cute to just GO IN on someone because they choose to. All of this paired with the recent beef between her and the girl with the double G's just makes the whole show a ? for me. I'll probably give it another few episodes but my expectations are low. And since its a VH1 show...there will likely be a season two so i'm not expecting her to find love either. #Kanyeshrug

5) Brandy and Ray J

It's actually kind of hard to focus on anything going on in the show because Brandy continues to wear her baby hear out and her eyebrows scare me. The lace or something with the lace front is visible and it throws me off. I get that she's trying to put herself back out there but it's just really hard to focus on anything BUT that. Ray J drinks alot. I don't know how much potential this show has--maybe the story line of the parents trying to get back in love or whatever will make the show more watch worthy. Maybe not.
