Adele turned 21, made an album, named it 21, synced release dates for the 21st of January and February in the UK and US respectively, and then turned 22.

What she also did was make a dope album. Start to finish, the album is incredible. There's a few upbeat songs and lots of ballads to just vibe to. I'm not sure who her writers are, but these songs can take you through the moods and leave you in a happy place.

Hump Day Escapism

I've been listening to Pandora all morning and it's been giving me JUST what I needed. Seriously, my India.Aire station goes so hard with the perfect blend of melody, old school romanticism, and new school love. India, Luther, Stevie, Chrisette, Robin, the list goes on and I haven't had to skip one song! Definitely a mood lifter among the nonsense and nonsensical people running a muck this week.

Tell me people? What do you do mid-week (or any other day) to zone out, lift your own spirits, and what have you? What Pandora station just takes you there?

Because we all know how much iLove this song...

Feel Good Musik: Miss Thang's "Still Standing"

I'm a self-proclaimed reality show junkie so naturally I tuned into Monica:Still Standing when it aired on BET. Honestly, Monica is really talented and just down to earth, serious about her family and her work, not to mention her sic shoe and bag game. There were two songs that I feel IN LOVE with watching the show so I was anxious for her album to come out. I took a listen yesterday and my hands down favorites are "Love All Over Me" and "Everything to Me".

The rest of the album is ok. I'm not jumping for joy about any other tracks quite yet, but "Love All Over Me" has been in heavy rotation since yesterday.

My Public Apology

I'd like to make a public apology to my ATL girlie crew for my disapproval of Waka Flocka Flame and his song when I first heard it in Compound in December. I know...I looked around in disgust and asked you what the hell a waka flakkkkaa (didn't grover or one of those muppets used to say that?)was, and for this I am sorry. I have recently found myself in a state of unexplained excitement when "Oh le do it" comes on. "F*ed my money up...now I cain't re-up...." Yeaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh

So to my girlies and the rest of ATL please accept my sincere apology. I'm never too good for some ignorance great ATL musiK.

I heard this song the other day when I was in the car and really liked it. But today it came on while I was driving home and it just really spoke to me. This song is from Stronger With Each Tear. I haven't listened to the entire album. It takes me a while to get through a whole album. I usually just run through and then hone in on the ones that catch my ear, heart, or jitterbug. Mary comes hard with this "I'm that chick" anthem. Loves it! Makes you feel untouchable by anyone (even if it only lasts the duration of the song)

This is on Raymond vs. Raymond which I MUST admit...I am looking forward to. Usher has the crazy ability to make a woman feel sexy even through the radio. This song is one of those songs. THIS is the Usher that we've been missin'. The song has been released as a single and should currently be in rotation on the radio. I can't help but turn it up and vibe along when it comes on!
