Words to live by

A friend of mine from graduate school was recently accepted to medical school and he was EXCITED! Anyone who has traveled that journey knows how hard it is and how rewarding it is to see your work finally pay off. But what I love, is that Dr. LQV immediately gave thanks to his Father. He first thanked his heavenly father for working in his life. THEN he thanked his family and those that came before him for all that they instilled in him.

He ended his blog with this:

"Work like everything depends on you, pray like everything depends on God. You will not fail."

I'm incorporating this into my daily mantra. We often pray for God to do this and do that, but are you working to your full potential to make things happen? If not, it's up to you to make that change. A few days ago, ILYT posted a word that she heard saying that "God doesn't deposit his gift in perfect people." Very true statement. In my study and continued learning about Him, I've realized that His plans for you aren't necessarily things that you can do on your own. You may be able to do much of it, but to truly live in what God has purposed you for, it will require you to lean on Him. But that doesn't mean that He doesn't want you to move yourself along too. You can't expect God to just deliver something to you on a silver plate and you've done nothing to move yourself closer to greatness.

So work hard, PRAY hard and watch what happens in your life.

  1. Good Post.

I too will be incorporating this thought- I haven't been leaning on him like I should.
