Reunited And It Feels So Good

We were introduced to one another a couple years back. I, then a graduate student in Philly, had just purchased two pairs of boots after realizing that my "open toe shoe game" was NOT going to get me through the Philly winter as I lived in the middle of the city and walked pretty much everywhere. So I saw her, but used my better judgement and bought two other pairs, leaving this beauty there. For two years this decision would haunt me and the patent-leather princess would have a soft spot in my heart.

Oh but thanks to the wonderful internet, we've been reunited and I just got her in the mail yesterday! Ok, yes, I obsess over shoes sometime and in this case I'm being extremely dramatiK, but you have to understand, this shoe is awesome.Besides the fact that its patent leather which I love, it's got the subtle "SHAPOW" factor with the cheetah printed heel. It'll surely command attention!

I mentioned that there was a list of shoes "lacking" from my closet. I needed a black patent leather situation really bad. Remembering my love for this shoe, I hit the e-streez and found them! My quota for sexy black heels has now been met (I copped another pair in Florida the other day because it was such a good deal). I'm finito with the black shoe game for a minute. Now about that red shoe I'm longing for....

In other news, my intense appreciation for a mean shoe game has led me to start another blog which will be launching very soon. Stay tuned for "Clothing Optional, Shoes Required".

Red Bottoms, Loubous, Chrissy Lous....the names go on

But the red sole has stayed the same. I loved CNN's look at Christian Louboutin and his design inspiration. The man observed a spider who was high and went on from there. The coveted "red bottoms" aren't just shoes, they are art. Quite possibly a masterpiece. Take a look!

Jellies!

I can remember wearing jelly sandals as a kid and then really wanting a pair of jelly stacks when I was a tween and even now, I love a good pair of jellies.

They are a great go to summer casual shoe and I just copped a pair yesterday from DSW by Steve Madden. Now since I know that you want to see some of the others...here are my favorites...

"Swirly" by Steve Madden. I bought this one yesterday and couldn't wait to slip this skimmer on with my wrap dress for work today. I purchased the smokey grey pair because they almost look like you aren't wearing anything until you notice the little sparkle. These flats are comfortable and a g0-to for those warm and casual days.

Guiseppe Zanotti got in on the love with their jelly sandal with the little jeweled detail. This reminds me of the Chanel "Diamante" that Keyshia Cole, Rihanna, and some others rocked a few summers ago.

Michael Kors made one of his signature sandals into a jelly too. These are simple but still bear the little silver medal piece that let you know its...Kors...
Finally, the Steven D'Orsay is a peep-toe jelly sandal with bead detail. I've seen these in the store but not on anyone so the jury is out on how they actual fare...but a nice look with a sundress I suppose.

Wonderful Weekend Obsessions

I had the first weekend off in a long time and spent all day yesterday adventuring around the city with him. Since most of the day was spent on foot...I had the opportunity to pop into a few shops around the city and have found two new obsessions (sigh). Wanna see 'em? Here they are...
BCBG Max Azria Lanolia
SUPER SUPER Cute cut out bootie that I feel in love with at first sight on the website. I saw them in the store today and they lived up to my expectations. I was full from brunch and wasn't in the try-on mood..but yea...loving them! This would be my ideal summer black bootie...might have to hit that 5&K corner pretty soon (iKid).
BCBG Max Azria Haze
Totally fell in love with this one in Georgetown yesterday. I tried to downplay my affection at first...but we had to loop back around so I could try it on. Yep, it's hot! The python embossing adds enough detail to catch any eye! Love the nude color which makes it versatile for spring and summer. Apparently they looked great on...and like a shoe I could run in?

Ahh...new open toe obsessions....

Open Toe Obsession of the Day: PLV Jillanna

Since we are already over at PLV for our open toe obsessions...I give you "Jillanna". This shoe has a lot of character. I LOVE heel detail. This shoe delivers in that area and then some. Its the perfect shoe for a light an airy summer dress. Love the coral and the mustard yellow (available at Shop The Shoe Box).

Open Toe Obsession Of the Day: Pour La Victoire Divia

This hottie is from the PLV 2010 Bridal Collection. It comes in black, white, and blue satin. I've been reading the shoe adventures of my soon-to-be wed linesister and finding the right shoe is apparenlty NOT.A.Game.

While searing for today's pick, I came across the PLV Bridal Collection. I think this shoe is just perfect for the bride looking to say something head-t0-toe. The blue is actually a really pretty color and would easily check off at least two of the four things that every bride must have at the wedding. Plus the price isn't too steep ($170) and if bought in an alternate color (read: black) then it could be worn again and again.

What do you think? Too much?

Open Toe Obsession of the Day

So spring has officially sprung. We've removed the countdown, but we have decided to celebrate spring with our "Open Toe Obsessions".

My Pick for Today:

The Dolce Vita Cabo. Very cute faux front lace-up situation with a zipper in the back. Comes in brown, silver and gold (which I don't like) and black (which I plan to insert in my closet at some point soon). Great look with dresses, jeans, and shorts! Available at a few different places online!
