"Its a Beautiful Day to Live My Beautiful Life"

Complaining. We are all so guilty of it. Someone isn't doing what we want them to do. It's too hot. It's too cold. Things aren't going how we think they should. So we just complain. We complain about EVERYTHING. But why? The stars can be aligned, God can be shining on us, and all can be right in the world but we will still complain about the moon sitting too far to the left.

Let's challenge ourselves to move past being complainers. No, this won't be an easy feat. It's so easy to complain. Complaining helps us create excuses for our own shortcomings or wrong doings. Complaining helps us place blame everywhere but on us. And complaining allows us to ignore that big arse log in our own eyes, to focus on the speck of dust in someone else's.

The reality for most of us (me, you, and a lot of you reading this) is that we have great lives. No, not perfect as perfection is something that is strived for but is rarely (if ever) attained. We have beautiful lives. We have great friends, awesome family (blood and no blood relation), we have jobs (they may not be our ideal career but they meet our needs), we have food (most of us eat good), we have clothes (check your label). We have really beautiful lives.

My challenge to myself (and you too) is to try to cut down on complaining. I'm not saying never complain because I don't think that is realistic, but let's try to do it less. Become conscious of when you are complaining. For some of us it is second nature, so we don't even realize when we are doing it. Let's become aware of the things we say. After all, there is power in words.

Let's see if we can make it a "complaint free" day, k?

Friday Show and Tell: Groupon

I am ALWAYS looking for a good deal on things. This usually gets me in trouble as it becomes a justification for shopping and what have you but we are getting better at that! I wanted to share one of my favorite sites with you!

Groupon is a wonderful site that teams up with businesses in various cities (pretty much every major city) to offer deals to you (and me) of at least 50% off. Some of the discounts can be as much as 90% off but the 50% is usually sufficient. The way it works is that they post a deal. If it interests you, then you buy in at that discounted price. There is a quota that must be met before the deal is "on" so encourage friends and fam to get in on it too. Once that quota is met, the deal is on and you are charged for the deal. They send your "groupon" later in the day and you are free to go enjoy your savings!

I AM AT CAPACITY!!!!

I have started this year and ended 2009 with a few of the same activities. One in particular is shopping! After re-categorizing my shoes and clothes. I have decided I have come to capacity w/ my blessings ( I am now living in overflow, literally)! I told myself I AM NOT, I really mean, I AM NOT going to any clothing/shoes stores for 2 months! This is ridiculous ,I have no room anywhere...anywhere. I am really tired of not having any room for anything so maybe give some stuff away, not a good idea. I will then start back shopping. So I have decided to cease all clothing/shoe shopping until March!
